Project: A Conservation Project: Prince Baltasar Carlos in the Riding School by the Studio of Velázquez
Role: Self-Shooting Director, Editor
Produced by Chocolate Films

The Wallace Collection is one of the UK’s most famous museums and is home to an array of 18th century paintings, arms & armoury and much more. In 2019 they began the restoration work on one of their Spanish paintings, Prince Baltasar Carlos in the Riding School by the Studio of Velázquez.

As the self-shooting director I followed the process for a year, starting by capturing the operation as the painting left the Wallace Collection. Following that I visited the paintings conservator in her studio twice over six months as she conducted amazing restoration work on the painting, and finally capturing it a year later fully restored and looking brand new as it arrived back at museum in what is known as The Great gallery.
